In commemoration of the thirty-one years since the restoration of Lithuania’s independence, 235 Lithuanian educational institutions joined the civic initiative “The Living Flower of the Nation.”
The civic initiative “The Living Flower of the Nation” has been running for eight years now and is intended for Lithuanian educational institutions: to celebrate March 11 cheerfully and creatively. All educational institutions are invited to participate in the civic initiative every year: pre-school and public education institutions. Before the pandemic, all participants (teachers, educators, pupils, children in kindergartens) were encouraged to create a live composition – a flower of the nation and capture it n camera. This year, during the quarantine and a remote educational process, the organizers suggested taking photos creatively, using our tricolor flag, Lithuanian symbols, and creativity.
The organizers are happy that 235 educational institutions participated in the proposed initiative; among them, 32 schools have Tolerance Education Centers.
The civic initiative “The Living Flower of the Nation” in Lithuania has been taking place since 2014, and this event is initiated by the International Commission together with the authors of this idea – Kastytis Ramanauskas Kindergarten from Panevėžys.
