On 5 June, a march to the Paneriai Holocaust Memorial is scheduled. The march will start in the morning from Vilnius. It will follow Savanorių Avenue all the way to Paneriai. The distance is about 12 kilometres.
The march will follow the old road along which most Jews were transported and marched on foot to the site of the mass killings in the Paneriai forest between 1941 and 1944.
Students and teachers are invited to take part in the march, which aims to raise awareness about the Holocaust and one of the largest mass murder sites in Lithuania – Paneriai.
The Secretariat of the International Commission organises the Paneriai March in cooperation with the Jewish Culture and Information Centre in Vilnius.
