On November 4, „Holocaust in the Province of Lithuania in 1941″, a book published by the International Commission in 2021, was presented in „Laiptų galerija“ of Šiauliai culture center.
The book “Holocaust in the Province of Lithuania in 1941” was presented by the author, historian dr. Arūnas Bubnys together with Ingrida Vilkienė, a coordinator of the educational programs of the International Commission. Historian Arūnas Bubnys told a large audience about the research period, the analyzed sources, and the work that had lasted for almost twenty years. Ingrida Vilkienė explained the value and significance of the book in the implementation of the project “The Road of Memory” in Lithuania in 2021; historical information about the beginning of the Holocaust in various places is very useful in organizing the commemorations. The participants of the event asked the author of the book questions on the selected topic, the difficulties encountered in gathering information, and analyzing the sources.
The presentation of the newly published book “Holocaust in the Province of Lithuania in 1941” in Šiauliai was organized by Šiauliai Culture Center‘s “Laiptų galerija” together with the Secretariat of the International Commission and the Jewish community of Šiauliai County.
