On February 24, there was a lecture given to teachers by a historian, dr. Alfredas Rukšėnas on the perpetrators of the Holocaust.
Lecturer Alfredas Rukšėnas started the lecture “Holocaust Perpetrators and Their Motivation” with his research, which analyzed the age, education, social status, and motivation of Lithuanians who participated in the Holocaust. The historian explained in detail to the teachers about the establishment of the National Labor Protection Battalions and their activities in Nazi-occupied Lithuania. Lecturer Alfredas Rukšėnas raised many moral questions during the lecture about people’s behavior and choices.
The lecture was attended remotely by 55 attendees. The event for teachers was organized by the Secretariat of the International Commission.
