An international open discussion about Holocaust education in different countries was organised by Swiss Embassy in Riga on January 29-30. Ronaldas Račinskas, the Executive Director of the International Commission and Ingrida Vilkienė, Education Programmes Coordinator, were Lithuania‘s representatives in the event to speak about the programme implemented by the International Commission.
January 29-30 the Swiss Embassy to Baltic countries, based in Riga, organised an international event to commemorate the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The event was attended by educators and experts from Switzerland, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Israel, Hungary, Germany, Estonia and the United States of America.
The discussion and presentations took place in Jan Lipke Memorial Museum and were attended by Swiss Ambassador in Latvia Konstantin Obolensky, Lithuanian Embassy Mission Chief Tomas Grabauskas, local politicians and educators from different countries. January 30 was meant for meetings with Latvian teachers who are actively involved in teaching about the Holocaust. The representatives of the International Commission spoke about initiatives, events, projects and activities in Lithuania.
