On the 4th of August Ariogala hosted a traditional event called “With Lithuania in our heart …”, organized by the Lithuanian Union of Political Prisoners and Deportees. This year the event of LUPPD, like every year, was attended by teachers from Tolerance Education Centers from all over Lithuania.
Every year, on the first Saturday of August, a congress “With Lithuania in our heart …” organized by the Lithuanian Union of Political Prisoners and Deportees is taking place in the valley of the Dubysa river in Ariogala. Teachers of the Tolerance Education Centers arrive for the past years to the meeting of LUPPD under the invitation by the International Commission together with the Ariogala Gymnasium Tolerance Education Center. A group of teachers participated in the joint march, which traveled from Ariogala to the Dubysa valley, and attended all-day events. The traditional event “With Lithuania in our heart …” was dedicated to remembering the exile, the loss of the Lithuanian population and fostering historical memory by transmitting the message to our future generations.
