International Holocaust Remembrance Day events in Mažeikiai Merkelis Račkauskas Gymnasium

 Mažeikių Merkelio Račkausko Gymnasium history teachers will show a film “Out of the Forest“ and have a discussion with the students afterwards. Gymnasium Tolerance Education Centre will join the initiative #WeRemember.

An exhibition “A Lithuanian Jewish Survivor Child Tells About Shoah” will be opened and presented to students by Vilna Gaon State Jewish Museum employee Danutė Selčinskaja.

Students will have non-traditional ethics lessons  “The Echo of the 1941 Summer Events in Mažeikiai“ in the town museum.

All the events in the gymnasium will be organised by Tolerance Education Centre teachers Rima Kesminienė and Silva Paulauskienė.

 

Vilnius Antanas Vienuolis Progymnasium community will talk about Holocaust in Lithuania and Europe

 January 22-26 history lessons will be meant for talking about tragic Holocaust events.

5-8th classes students will be invited to take part in a commemoration event “We Remember“ and learn about the circumstances of the Holocaust, the scale and the outcome of the tragedy. They will have a discussion on how to fight radicalism and antisemitism today. The event is initiated by Tolerance Education Centre coordinator history teacher Andrius Meištas.

 

International Holocaust Remembrance Day events in Mažeikiai Gabija Gymnasium

 The Centropa exhibition “Jewish Past is the Hope for the Present“ will be opened in Mažeikių Gabijos Gymnasium. Based on the material presented in the exhibition, history, ethics and economics lessons will be customised.

During ethics, philosophy and religion lessons students will be introduced with the film “Freedom Pages“ which reveals facts from Auschwitz concentration camp, Anna Frank Diary, Holocaust survivors lives. The events are initiated by Tolerance Education Centre teachers Regina Dirginčienė and Rima Skrodenytė.

 

Daugai Vladas Mironas Gymnasium students will analyse the Holocaust history in civil society studies lessons

 On 29-30 of January civil society studies, teacher Virginija Svinkūnienė will have lessons on Holocaust in Daugai Vladas Mironas Gymnasium, Alytus District.
