On the occasion of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, 27 January, an artistic conference, “The Lost and Rediscovered History of the Jewish Community of Lithuania,” will be held in Ariogala.

On Monday, 27 January 2025, an artistic conference, “The Lost and Rediscovered History of the Jewish Community of Lithuania,” will be held at the Ariogala Cultural Centre (Raseiniai district) for the communities of the Tolerance Education Centres. This is an annual event organised to commemorate the destruction of the Jewish communities that lived in Lithuanian towns and cities before the Second World War. The conference aims to remember, present, restore historical justice, and speak through artistic expression about Lithuanian Jews who lived in Lithuania, who created the Lithuanian state, and who were active in various spheres of economic, social, political, cultural, and religious life.

The event is organised by the Secretariat of the International Commission for the Evaluation of the Crimes Committed by the Nazi and Soviet Occupation Regimes in Lithuania in cooperation with the Tolerance Education Centre of Ariogala Gymnasium.
